5 types of lighting blog

 Top lighting
The set up of top lighting is taken overhead. Top lightings emotion are happy or sad because the way the person can look by the expressions. The pros of front lighting are that front lighting isa good way to light reflective items and is very useful for product photography. The cons of top lighting is top lighting yields ugly shadows under a persons eyes and nose in the case of portrait photography and is commonly not used in portraits.
Bottom lighting
The setup of bottom lighting is the same setup as the setup is for side lighting and it often known as a spooky image. I would say the emotions of bottom lighting are tough mad ad sad. The pros and cons of bottom lighting are the contrast. The cons of bottom lighting are the value.
 Side lighting
the setup of side lighting is shooting the picture on the left or right side of your face to get the strong shadow of one side of the face. The emotions of side shooting are more dramatic because of the way the woman looks in the photo. Pros of side lighting are that side lighting's depth becomes more of a prominent force. Side lighting also creates a more dramatic image.Side lighting visually defines the subject from its background. The texture of the image also comes to life. The cons of side lighting are that too much contrast can be unattractive. Another con of side lighting is that you may need to use a reflector or fill flash to reduce contrast.

 Front lighting
The setup of front lighting can be done by using your flash on your camera also make sure that the subject is not being lit by another dominant light source. The emotions of front lighting are less dramatic and more happy. The pros of front lighting are that front lighting gives more predictable results by lighting the entire subject straight on. Another pro of front lighting is that there are fewer shadows.
Back lighting
The setup of back lighting can be increased exposure in your picture of the subject from behind and also having an overexposed background. The emotions of back lighting are more happy and exciting. The pros of back lighting are that the back lighting photos show more of a story rather than facial expressions. Also it creates an interesting contrast of often warm light on a dark subject. The cons of back lighting are the lack of detail might not be the desired result. Too much or too little back lighting can ruin the desired images. Also the lens flare can pop up.
